An FIR in Bharatpur names Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone over a faulty Hyundai Alcazar. Filed under cheating and conspiracy charges, the case alleges their role as brand ambassadors influenced the buyer’s decision.

An FIR has been registered against Bollywood actors Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in Bharatpur, Rajasthan, in connection with a consumer complaint over a faulty car. The case was lodged at Mathura Gate police station under sections related to cheating, criminal breach of trust, and criminal conspiracy.
The complaint was filed by Kirti Singh, a 50-year-old advocate, who alleged that he purchased a Hyundai Alcazar (2022 model) from a dealership in Sonipat, Haryana, for Rs 23.97 lakh. According to Singh, the vehicle developed repeated issues soon after purchase, and despite multiple service attempts, the problems persisted.
Since Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone were brand ambassadors for Hyundai, the complainant included them in the case, alleging that their endorsement influenced his decision to buy the car. Police officials confirmed that the FIR also names dealership representatives and company executives.
The matter is currently under investigation, and further legal proceedings will depend on the inquiry. This case once again raises questions about consumer rights, brand endorsements, and the extent of accountability for celebrities promoting products.
